Has anyone tried any good anti slip grippers for to put on the soles of shoes ? It is so slippery with the snow i am scared i fall because i have osteoprosis. I tried some last year but they were useless. There are some on Amazon £24.99 and £4.99 postage . I dont mind paying that if they are any good . Kathleen Mc.

I've read on another forum to put woolly socks over your shoes. Don't know if they work though, I will send husband out to investigate. Someone in the same thread had some anti slip grippers, said they were good in snow and ice but you have to take them off to go into shops. Paula

Hi Kathleen, I've heard of Paula's tip too, socks over shoes. What about the slipper socks would they not be better still with the grips on the sole. Would be much cheaper than the expensive shop ones. Take care Lorna x

Hiya , some one pointed me in the direction of Yak Trax Here. However this would cause me problems when going into shops ..to get them off as it damages both the grips and the floors :( However on the same site they have these grips which looks good :) Grips and a walking stick "spike" Rich :) "The difference between 'involvement' and 'commitment' is like an eggs-and-ham breakfast: the chicken was 'involved' - the pig was 'committed'."

HI, Celtic Sheepskin are advertising some grippers at the moment, that seem to attatch to different shaped shoes or boots. They are on-line, although have never tried these myself. Candy

Hi Kathleen, i am trying to get hold of something called petzl spiky plus or verica city tracks to attach to my shoes as i am sick of being stuck in everytime it snows. I am waiting for these items to arrive at a hiking/outdoor type shop. Wether they will work i don't know, the next thing is finding the confidence to go out in the ice with them on!
